Default 2001 A6 Catalytic Cat Converter...

It seems that i need both left and right Catalytic Cat Converter for my 2001 A6, AWD. Where's the best place to get these? The dealer tried to rape me @ $2100.00 a side and told me this is very uncommon. What do you guys think?

Thank you,

John

First, I don't know sh1t about catalytic converters, but before you replace them, tell the forum why they think both need replaced. There are some wicked smart people in this forum when it comes to these cars. Give some details about the symptoms, any error codes, etc. You may find the problem is something considerably cheaper to fix. F the dealer too. I hate those bastards.

Bank 1 and Bank 2 below threshold. I keep getting these codes. I clear them and 3 days later the engine light comes back on. At first it was only Bank 2 now they are both. Any ideas.

And keep the engine light on at all times? I dont think so. Besides it will never pass inspections when needed.

Any other solutions ladies and gentlemen?

Audi factory parts are terribly expensive. If you are sure the cats are the issue, not the 02 sensors, then have a reputable exhaust shop cut in new converters. It shouldn't cost more than $800 complete both sides.
