Default newbie here

Just bought my first audi 96, auto, 81,000 miles. I brought it to audi so they could do a quick 1-2 they told me the car was solid. They said that I need my timing belt done because the previous owner didnt know if it was done or not. I was Quoted 1500 it could be worse I guess. I do have a few questions. First off, my throttle sticks when I get into it and it's pretty stiff. What do I need to do to fix this? And second I have allmost no oil pressure, their are no warning lights and after maybe a half our of driving it does come up but not much over 150. I'm guessing this is a filter problem on the pump. Is this hard to fix? Other than that the car is a dream no complaints. Thanks

that "oil pressure" would be your oil temp. if it were pressure you wouldn't be keeping that oil in your car at 150lbs. lol. as for the throttle sticking it's probably just carbon and I would use some throttle body cleaner. that would depend on what IS causing it to stick.

I'd look around for a better price on that timing belt change - shouldn't be much more than $750 or so.

Welcome to AudiForums, and good luck!

that depends on your climate and how you drive. I'm by Syracuse NY and can get it to come up in about 10 minutes If I'm running hard but usually takes a bit longer. also yes check indepedent Audi mechanics. they're a lot cheaper.... usually.

Sounds good now I just have to fine one up here in midcoast maine. As far as my oil temp goes it is pretty cold but even after an hour of driving it's not much above 150. As far as my throttle goes I'm going to look into it after work. I was on the highway last week and went to go pass and my throttle stuck open I had to ride the brakes until it pooped back out. I looked at all the cables and nothing is binding. Thanks for the help

I've got the 12v 2.8 as well, gizmo - oil temp never gets above 150 on mine, either. Sounds normal!

sweet sound good. Im going to take care of my throttle problem tonight and run some sea foam. For the most part I think I got a good deal on my a4. One other question on of my belts are squeeking and it's driving my nuts how to I tighten it? I think it was changer recently because when I bought the car the old one was left in the trunk.
