Default Exhaust - Loud - Leaking etc

Ok,
So thinking I have put in due diligence in reading the noob guides and exhaust threads that are posted here goes my first real post.

2000 Audi(duh) A4, 1.8T FWD,

I am taking her into the shop to have them look at the exhaust, it starting making loud noises late last week after I damn near ran her dry on oil. I have been getting the smoke on start up that is often described in the threads and underneath looks like I coat her in oil regularly. She also ticks. My question is this, what has been the typical experience when you have taken it in? I also have to apologize for what may be a really stupid question, the turbo bolts issue that seems to be in the threads with the exhaust leaks could that be a root cuase in the oil leaking?

Thanks,

PS if I totally fing posted in the wrong fing place just fing let me know

Steve

I am a bit suprised, I had no takers on comments.

Anyhoo, It was the flex pipe. $75 for the pipe $35 for labor, pretty happy it was not something more serious. However I have a pretty good oil leak somewhere. The engine was to covered in Oil to find the leak, so I took her for a wash and will bring herback to the shop in a day or two. They said they coulddo custom exhaust pipes for a lot less than 3-4 hundred sound right to you?

Glad it worked out for you. 3-4 hundred sounds like a good deal to me....as long as they are doing the installing too. Maybe you can get them for 250 and put it on yourself.....

Steve,

OEM flexpipe replacement is $150 for the part alone, so for $105, you snagged a good deal! If they're doing a cat-back exhaust, then $300 is a fair deal. $400 is a bit more pricey... I would expect muffler tips welded on for that price. I got my 2.5" cat-back for $350, which included a flexpipe replacement, and a muffler weld.
