Default 2001 A6 exhaust tips

I know this subject has been covered ad-nauseum. However, I was curious if anyone knew of an aftermarket exhaust tip that was angled and therefore wouldn't require cutting the valance and welding etc; The reason I'm asking is because I recently saw a mercedes that had a dual exhaust tip that clearly came out of the down turned exhaust and angled under the valance and was wondering if the same application could be used on my A6. It seems like alot of expense/hassle for exposed tips. A bolt on solution would be alot more feasable. If anyone has any thoughts I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

well if your into custom engineering a piece yourself then get a piece of 2 inch EMT bend it and bolt it or weld it on ... i dont know why you would put tips on something hidden behind a bumper ... there will be no gain performance-wise .... if you are lookin for appearance get some emt n spray paint it chrome? thats def the cheapest way

I have seen a system on Achtuning for $1250 with turned tips... I would just go with a facelift and cut the valences. My shop told me they will cut them, it should look good.

Does anyone know where to get the RS6 tips?

Quad tips look nice you still gotta do some hacking to the valance and exhaust though. If you're nervous bout DIY a shop should do it for cheap. Its a piece of cake

Has anyone here done this exhaust tip mod on a 98-00 a6 2.7?

I REALLY want to get the lltek tips kit. their "ridgid peak exhaust collar" looks like a really nice way to finsh it off.

I called for a quote: $198 for 2 tips and 2 extenders, and $88 for 2 plastic collars.

any additional input on this?

I bought my 2000 A6 2.7 with the angled tip. They're oval but too small really. I too saw a mercedes with fat twin oval tips on both sides that were angled and it looked fantastic (I should've flagged him down and asked him where he got them from!).

I've searched the web extensively and not come up with anything, so I think it's gonna have to be a case of cutting the valance. Has anyone here done this or do you know of a kind of how-to? I don't mind hacking at it but it'd be nice to have some idea of what I'm doing lol.
