Default UH OH! CV Axle Problems (pics)!

Alright, so I installed my front snub mount today from APR andwasabout to putthe new axle in the front drivers side. I got the old one off and trying to put in the new one but there seems to be one "miner" difference between the two. The new one has a cap on the end which isn't allowing the allan bolts to meet up with the tranny. I'm going to have my bro (parts salesman) call his distributor and hopefully determine that they sent me the wrong axle. By chance, does anyone recognize what this axle is for (see pics below)?

I'n not sure if it makes a difference, but could one axle be for awd and the other for fwd?

You're probably right ... anyway, I got the right one in yesterday and put it on. But now I'm having a problem with the new one - it's clicking when I make left-hand turns which sounds like there is no grease in the outer boot. If I wasn't gettin' such a good deal on these axles through my bro I'd be pitchin' a fit with these folks. [:'(]
