Radio locked in SAFE mode
 

Following some suggestions, I tried to unlock it, using its code (which I didn't know at the time). Now that I have the correct code, I cannot get the radio to flash 1000. It just sits there and says "SAFE". This is very depressing, I have waited hours, nights, days, and even disconnected and then reconnected the battery. Is there anything else I can do short of going to the dealership or buying another radio?

You may need to leave the key on with the radio on for at least an hour. Then follow the procedure in your owners manual.
