Default 2005 A6 headlight question

New to the forum. New owner of 2005 A6........ bought it for my son forgraduation from College!

He loves the auto...................... but how in the world to you turn on the other set of the headlight beams (the inside ones) with regular reflector and lamp?!?!?! Read manual and it doesn't seem to cover it. Or at least I'm a DumbA** and missed it. Any help would be much appreciated. His has the premium packasge, fog front and rear and turning lens ( I assume this is the reg low/high beam light because it turns on when the switch is rotated.
Thanks, Joe

Your high and low beams come out of the same bulb. The inside reflector and lamp is for flash to pass. HIDS (or any bulb with a balast) do not like to be turned on and off often. So your lowbean mechanically moves a little reflector inside the bulb to produce the high beam (bi-xenon). You push the high beam lever forwards to engage the high beams and you pull the lever back to flash to pass. Or flash the jack ass in front of you for ______.

Jeff

I assume the 2005 is setup the way I think it is.

Jeff, thanks for the reply. When I pull back on the turn signal lever forthe Flash to Pass the regular Hi/Lo beams just go to bright. The inside lamps do not light. This happens with light on or off. Any other suggestion? I looked at programming of the exteriotlights but it does not have any adjusyment for the Flash to Pass. Thanks again, Joe

The inside lights are the day time running lights. They are controlled through the"Car" MMI screen, and can be set to always be on or to always be off. If you click on car you will be able to select theexterior light screen and adjust from there.
