Default WTF: RPM drop whenever clutch is engaged...

Well I got in my car today and fired her up. The car began to shutter and the RPMs fell to about 500. Now whenever I engaged the clutch it does this drop in RPMs. Earlier in the week I got a whooooshing sound from the clutch when it was first engaged on start up. My thoughts are that the throw out bearing is sticking and it is time for a new clutch... There are no idiot lights nor voltage drops/spikes like a ground problem. Any help would be much appreicated. It has 74,000 miles on it and it has the original fuel filter which I will change out first $$$$$ before I look towards the transmission. HELP!!!!!!!!

Default RE: WTF: RPM drop whenever clutch is engaged...

I am going to change out the fuel filter in the morning to see if it is a simple fix... Further observation: Every single time I fire the car up in the morningwith the first clutch engagement there is a whoooooshing noise and that is it, no other problems. The pedal feel on the other hand has gone from about mid-throw to just catching on the top of the natural resting position. If you can deduce anything from that pleaseHelp!!!!!!!!!!
