My blinkers have been sporatic for the past few months. when I turn either signal on, it will blink maybe 3 times at most before it just goes out; sometimes they dont blink at all!! Also, the "ticking" sound somtimes goes out of control when I signal. It can sometimes last for the duration of the ride. almost sounds like a pen down the teeth of a fine comb over and over. However, when I hit the hazard switch, the lights blink just fine. I just want to know how to fix it/ or who to take it to, any idea of the price for parts + labr. Has anyone had this problem?

Definetly the hazard switch. I had this happen to me about a month ago in my B5 A4, did some research in the forums, so I went to the dealer and paid like $40 for a new hazard switch and popped out the old in plugged in the new and it fixed the problem. I guess there are two resistor coils in the switch (one for hazards, one for blinkers) so that explains why your hazards will work, but your blinkers weren't. Easy fix.........
i had the same problem, i replaced the hazzard switch and the problem was still there. i found the connector at the turn signal switch on the steering collumn was coming unplugged. i secured it back on and now everything works great. hope it helps.
I just had this problem happen to my 87 GT. Both my turn signals and my "Electronic"s board with the Volts and Oil temp are out. I dismanteled the hazzard switch and it wasn't pretty inside so I'm hoping a replacment will cure the issue with the signals. On the flip side, my computer switch now works again after taking apart and cleaning terminals.
