Default vvme loop hole!!!!

ok, so I think I figured something out. The vvme kit is like 40 plus like a 50 shipping charge. I figured out you can but replacement ballasts for 9.99 ech and then buy bulbs seperate for 12.99 a pair. 2 ballasts =20+ 12.99 pair of bulbs= 32.99 plus the shipping, i think you would save like 15-20 bones. Am i overlooking something?

Yeh, you forgot the useless mounting brackets that I can't seem to find a place for and don't forget about the four little zip ties. Those things are PRICELESS ya know.

Nice

EDIT:
Good idea but I just went on their site and compared the two and here is what it looks like

$12.99 (x1)bulbs
$9.99 (x2)ballasts
$80.00 Shipping

total separate parts $112.97

$42.99 (x1)kit
$30.00 Shipping

Total as kit $72.99

Looks like you get a shipping break with the kit.

Is $72.00 cheaper than it was in the past I seem to remember it being more...

That's right. When I priced out bulbs, I came up with $55. I figured I'd get a set to go with my ballasts (I had a bulb blow out on me), and then order a second set, thinking the shipping would combine at least partially. Nope - you pay full shipping cost on the kit, plus full shipping cost on the bulbs. It ends up being more expensive to piece it together, as Promaine pointed out up above.
