hey guys, i have a 98 a4 and i just converted my interior to LEDs...every light i bought works fine

except the map lights (the two front lights you can push the button to turn on, not the center dome light)

i replaced the stock ones (12v) with the new ones which are 4 LEDs but still a 12v bulb

every time i put it in and turn it on, it blows the interior light's 10a mini-fuse

anyone have any idea here?

do you have resistors in the 4 LED circuit? otherwise thats probably blowing your fuse you need a resistor for each LED

if you just bought the LED's by themselves they wouldn't have come with resistors but since LED's require different voltage (even tho you bought ones rated for 12 v) you need the resistors to prevent situations like that. don't worry tho resistors are cheap and can be found at any radio shack, explain to them the type of LED's your installing and they will provide you with the proper resistors
