Default Wiring Harness

My wiring harness for my CTS is damaged. Can i just get any wiring harness off a B5 and put it in my car?
Or are the wiring harness specific for each car?

CTS= coolant temp sensor lol. i believe you can but i'm not 100% sure. another thing you can do is just splice in your own wires.
