your school probably has a 30meg pipe for the students to share, and you're on a switch sharing that with hundreds of other students. That's how my dorm was set up
cable...and it's gonna be alot nicer when we have furniture in and a bed. i am working from home while the various utilities people take meter reads and stuff and my a$$ is numb from sitting on the floor all day.
