how do you know when front wheel bearings are bad????

you'll hear a loud annoying sound (like my roommates gf's voice :)) as you go faster.

my front drivers side humms, but It has been bad for over a month and I have put abnout 4k on it without the noise getting much worse....

I will replace in the next month or 2

ok look dude, if you repair it now.. it'll be like 300$ or something if you take it to a shop... if you wait until it sounds worse, it's seriously going to cost you up around a grand cuz more parts will be worn and need to be replaced.. don't put it off!

If your wheel bearing is bad it will make a noise sort of like a "hum" that will change pitch with speed. The sound should also change as you go around a corner at a moderate speed. A quieter noise turning left means a bad left wheel bearing, quieter turning right mean a bad right wheel bearing.

the wheel bearing costs $50, all you need to do is remove your steering knuckle, take it to a machine shop, they press the old bearing out and press the new one in...

should take about an hour to remove the knuckle and an hour to re-install MAX....

So, it'll cost 50$ plus another 20$ for the machine shop to press out/in the bearings....

the whole job should take 3 hours (including drive time to a local shop) and cost you about 70$....
