O2 Sensor Cleaner?

Okay so i have been battling with my Damn CEL for ever!!! This damn p0160 Code freaking kills me. Bank Two sensor Two---I dont really feel like replacing the whole O2 so is there a cleaner that will Just clean it---Or use a wire brush like how you clean your plugs?

The thing is i know its not completly dead just becuase everyonce and a while it wont come back on for a couple days---Other times the CEL will come on when it reads--Lately its just been every 15 min(when it re reads) So i have figured that its just sooo grimey now it needs to be cleaned.

However i do i have a little exhuast leak(Right before the cat) Could it just be mis reading becuase of that leak? Any comments would help..

Thanks,
Stefan.

Depending on how big it is, it could be the leak. On my moms 97 olds (ewww i know) Had a leak before the cat and the secondary o2 light came on. welded the flange back and lights been off ever since.

You'll probaly have too spend $100-140 for a new one like I did.Try fixing the leak first though, if water or moisturesgetting in to the cat I would think thats going to kill your cat + o2's.

Yeah--The hole is up top(thats why i havent beenable to weld it) And the one time i had to take my Pass. Side downpipe off i wanted to shoot myself where the bolt was for one of the manifolds.

I should know which chemical to suggest, but it's not popping into my head. I think it was synthetic carb cleaner, or throttle body cleaner. Don't think it was Brakleen, but could be non-chlorinated Brakleen. Go to the chemical aisle of your favorite parts house and read the back of those cans. One of the chemicals(embarrased for not knowing right now) will say, "safe for cleaning O2 sensors," or something of that nature.
Sometimes that's all they need.

How would you go about cleaning the sensor? I don't have any codes but figure it would be a good thing to do while doing a spring tuneup.

Pull the sensor out. Spray it. Let it dry. Install.

Might be MAF cleaner. It says right on the can.
