Default LEDs done, HIDs done-- thanks for the help...

Here's what I've been working on. LEDs in the headlamps. Also retrofitted HIDs using FK housing. Just need some minor adjustments

Thanks for Beartrap for his instructions and help on installing HIDs

The lower LEDs has been disconnected. I'll probably be adding it back witha switch so i can still have the option...
The LEDs are really bright, i just happened to finish late last night and has some adjusting to do. I'll try to takea daytime photo.

$225 for used FK headlamps (since i wanted projection)
$50.00+ for HID kit (ballast, igniters, bulbs, etc)
$60.00 for 3 19" LED strip (weatherproof/encased/built in resistors, i ordered 3 for "just in case" and i did have to use the "just in case" led...)
$10.00 heat gun
and the rest are stuff i already have in my garage (glue, pliers, wires, etc...)

Being that this was my first time doing a mod like this, plus taken into account that i work during the day, sometimes in the evening so i was limited to very little time when i started with this- basically took me a month from beginning to end..however if given the chance to do it again- i can do it in a more properly planned and efficient time- i would say a set of headlamps in 2 days (opened, modded, installed). Providing you have all the parts and the time.

I tried the OVEN thing, but was more successful with a heat gun.
As a matter of fact, couple of mistakes were made that i had to reopen the headlamps 3 times!! But practically, once you have the headlamps open, it only takes a few minutes to fit and secure the LED strip, clean the unit, and then reinstall the Lens. It takes at least a good 10-minutes of just circling round and round the seams between the housing and lens..

I will try to post a HOW_TO- hopefully this weekend..
