Wow, it has been a long time since I've been on these forums. Prior owner of an A4 with GIAC, downpipe 2.5 magnaflow catback k&n 5 speed fwd.. WAS TOTALED AT A PARTY by a kid without a license -.-.. Was then forced to buy a SAAB 95 aero.. which was a decent car 250hp but the damn thing weighed 4800lbs..

ANYWAY

Im looking at a6 2.7T quattro 2001's and 2002's and noticed they are all around 12gs with low mileage.. Is ther esomething about these years that I should know about? Why so cheap compared to the a4s...

The 2000-02 2.7t A6's are in that price range because of the typical milage (75-100K). To a typical American consumer 100k miles is the end of a car but not these cars! So to anyone with an understanding of these cars you would think it is low milage. To the typical American it is high therefore this depreciation. They are 6-8 years old & they are also the mid range in the A6 family with the 2.8 (replaced with the 3.0) then the 2.7t and then the 4.2. If you check out the 4.2's they cost more and if you are looking for that range then you will have to look for one with more milage (hence the family line-up changes the price). Its a great car and if you are into modding its perfect. Also be aware of the constant maintenance of the 2.7t. Changing oil every 5000k miles or so. Warm up and cool down. Its a car that needs pampering Love it though.

I bought my 01' 2.7t this December with 79,000k miles for $11,900. So far no problems. THANK GODDD!!
