Default Newbie, looking for A4 and S4 info

Hey guys
I just stumbled upon this site today. I currently have a 2001 Lightning putting down 460/550 at the wheels. Needless to say, I'd like to have something else as a smoother, quieter daily driver. I probably have about 10k at most to spend. I'd like something that handles well and doesn't sound like it's about to fall apart when it goes over uneven road surfaces like the e36 M3's I've driven.

So tell me some pro's and cons to each of the cars and what to expect to get w/ 10k or less to spend. Also, I'm in Houston, so if any of you are looking to sell, let me know. My email is woody1385@yahoo.com

well pro's, it has the Audi name which means quality craftsmanship, spirited driving, and some die-hard owners (most on here), the cons is it also mean big repair bills when something breaks. Another plus that wouldn't effect you much is the quattro drive system. I would say that with 12k to spend you could get a nice B5 1.8t, a higher millage b5 S4 or some older A8's,A6's etc. you'd just have to look around.

For Texas though seeing as you guys don't get much rain/snow, I honestly would consider getting a RWD car instead of a AWD car or a FWD car, but that is just me. I guess since you are probably going to keep the truck, that could be your toy and then a AWD Audi would probably make a great addition as a comfortable DD. Also they are smooth, you can easily push 100+mph with 4 people in the car and not feel like you are going that speed.

A4 Info
S4 Info

Those two links should get you started. For under 12k I would probably try to get an A4. You can get an S4 with that kind of money but they usually have quite a bit of miles.

I would go for AWD - If you can, go drive a Front-Trac and a Quattro and you will know why.

Welcome to the forums
