A4 or A6?

Trigger Happy -> A4 or A6? (4/17/2008 1:44:39 PM)

Hey guys I've been lookin at alot of these forum topics and am thinking about getting an Audi. I've been looking at either a 03 A4 or a 02 A6. Not that set on the years but those seem to be the best for what I am looking for.

I want a car that is going to be modded somewhat easily and that can be ridiculously fast for under 10 grand in mods. From what I have read it looks like the A6 can go about 450 hp and 485 rwt for under 10, but the A4 would only be around 340 hp and 350 rwt. Is this right or am I off? Also which car if comp. modded will be the fastest and best handling?

Any input is great. Thanks in advance!

u can get the a4 1.8 to over 500hp if you do it right but its only a 1.8l engine so u gotta be carefull ... plus if your gonna put that much into something it shouldnt be your daily driver... i think there are a few other threads that talk about this try searching

You might want to look for a slightly older S4 which has the same 2.7T engine.  Same mods available with about 400 lbs less weight.  However, forget back seat and trunk space.

I don't think you can make an Audi ridiculously fast off the line.  They're just too heavy and the quattro sucks hp.  However, it will cruise happily all day at 120+ mph if you can find the road.  It's also stable at high speed and very sure-footed in bad weather (read snow, ice).  Just don't expect a pocket-rocket out of the hole.  It's a luxury-sports-touring car, not a real racer.

i wouldnt give up the space i have  in my a6 over an s4 ever ... used to have one

I mean fast for an audi. I no its not a race car. But what are the 0-60 time for the stage 3 A4 and A6s?

look on the timeslips section if i had to guess 12.5 or under for 1/4

no idea on 0-60

i drove a stage 3+ a6 before and the thing was a rocket once it hit 2500rpms ... u better have the thing pointed in the right direction because there is NO steering whatsoever lol

If I get the RS4 Ko4 turbo package from avalon and the Fueling kit, what other items would I need to keep my car reliable and safe?

joetm -> RE: A4 or A6? (4/18/2008 1:30:43 AM)

look at awe tuning s4 k04 package thats all ull need ... awe sells to avalon so just buy from awe

Trigger Happy -> RE: A4 or A6? (4/20/2008 7:42:31 PM)

I meant more along the lines of a clutch or things like that.

joetm -> RE: A4 or A6? (4/21/2008 5:43:58 AM)

o yea you would probably need to replace the clutch as it would wear pretty quickly ... im a tip guy so I cant really help you there ... i know ive seen a clutch kit on awe's site aswell while i was looking around ...

euro_2nr -> RE: A4 or A6? (4/21/2008 10:08:34 AM)

2000 A6 2.7T 6MT Quattro Stock -> 0-62 mph = 5.9 sec (or at least thats the official numbers)
