My 2002 A6 3.0 with 83,000 miles is having some transmission issues, sometimes when stopped on an incline it will completely slip out of gear, I will hit the gas some and it then shudders. This will also occur when I begin to back up, again completely out of gear! Then it catches and shudders. I took it to the Audi dealer and they tell me I need to replace the transmission at an estimated cost of $7500. The cars worth $10k if that?? I did get their computer read-outs of the test's which were done? It seems the entire test's which were done passed at least that’s how I read it? However, the service manager is hanging his hat on this test outcome "If the MVB 10, position 1 is above 300mA replace the transmission" mine was measured at 315mA.

Can anyone offer any advice and/or recommend a shop around San Diego for a second opinion.

Thanks
