If you have 0 compression, you have to have a bad valve or few. Yes, you could of had a timing belt slip or strech that could of caused it. Auditech79 would have a better list of causes than me, he does own one also. Dont know if he is in this thread yet or not, but he needs to be

Ok, Here are some logs I took. I am wondering if the controller for the W/M kit was bad. Look at how low the RPMs are when the IAT start to drop. I think the kit was injecting way before I built boost up. Possibly it was injecting as soon as I went to WOT? Any input? josh

What's your mileage on your car and when was your timing belt last changed? Woops edit, just reread the first post. If your up to pulling the engine, do that. It should make it a little easier to work. Though, if you can tackle it with the engine in, go for it. Called up the company who made the kit?

Not yet. I am going to do that tomorrow. I am kind of thinking that my headgasket might have already been on it's way out. Over the last few weeks I have noticed a little bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust when the engine was cold. I figured it was just condensation but now that i look at it, with the outside air temps and whatnot I don't think it should have been doing that. Maybe the headgasket was leaking before but only when cold. Once it warmed up maybe the engine expanded enough to stop the leak or at least slow it down enough to make it so you could not see any smoke. IDK it's all speculation right now. Josh

I'm guessing you didn't see that the engine is blown up? That would cause all my problems. Josh

Here is something else. I had been getting a little bit of white smoke for a while (about 2 weeks or so) before this all happened. I am wondering if this was something that happened before and then it just so happened to go out because of the extra boost and whatnot... blown head gasket would mean white smoke right? coolant leaking into the combustion chamber? There was not that much smoke though. Only on startup and for about 10 min after that. Maybe it was only a small leak at first so it was just seeping into the chambers overnight or when the engine was cold and once the engine heated up it sealed it enough for there not to be enough leaking to cause noticeable white smoke? Just thinking out loud right now. Josh

If you don't trust the the technician you have I would recommend you to buy a crate engine instead of rebuilding a new one. My guess it would be cheaper to get a crate engine but what do i know! :) anyways good luck .. you need it

Josh if you have 0 compression you sometimes need to pull the piston for new rings and such. If I were you I would wank that thing out of there and then why your in there have all the motor work done and build yourself a solid long lasting motor. but I defintley recomend an engine pull your life should be a lot simpler. well good luck if it's just a head gasket you should be able to leave it in with out to many problems. I just like pulling motors so thats my first response.

So how difficult is it to pull the engine? I mean can I do it in a day or two? Anyone have any good resources as to step by step or something like that? Josh

go on audizine and look under the s4/rs4 forum theres a guy doing turbo swap and he has a pretty extensive diy for engine pull check it out. oh and just for reference theres a guy i kow locally that can pull the engine and tranny in 2 hours lol it just depends on how good you are. and deff check out the thread on audizine man very very extensive heres the link link good luck man and i have a fear that my head gasket is doing the same thing lol i have occasional smoke too but it goes of after awhile and i have a misfire in 2 4 and 6 so hopefully its not that and its just that my new k04's are deffective lol much easier to do those....... god sometimes i hate this car lol but i love it most of the time haha

ouch...sorry to hear about that Josh.... i am more leaning toward a cylinder head(crackede valve seal/valve) or head gasket rather than the block(piston rings)...from what i hear those blocks are bomb proof... does sound like you wil have to pull the engine... i have all the r&r info you'll need... pm me your email and i'll send it to you.

Thanks. Engine is almost out. Just need to unbolt the drive shaft and halfshafts. Then undo the engine and tranny mounts and then pull it! Looks like I might be replacing a piston as well. A buddy came over today and looked into it and it looks like there was some pitting going on. Won't know for sure till it's all taken apart. More pictures coming later tonight. Josh

Ok, yeah I might have to do that. And yes jeff, there are 2 segways in those pictures. My dad started the first ever segway rental business in the world when they came out. It did catch on so my dad had to close it down but now they are everywhere. Josh
