Well... I have decided to take it to a shop. I just do not have the time to do this. My work schedule is ridiculous. So I towed it down to a shop this morning... And there she sits and waits.

Now my question is since I am having the shop do it, what all should I have him replace while they have the engine all torn apart. I would rather spend the money now and get stuff replaced BEFORE it breaks on me. I would like to do turbos but thats not going to happen right now. Any ideas?

Also anyone have any good recommendations as to a good wide-band O2 sensor and A/F gauge? Also how to hook it all up? I want to add one after all this crap so I can see whats going on A/F ratio wise. Thanks.

Here is my car... just sitting and waiting:

Josh

I just ordered the Innovative Motorsports wideband O2 sensor package and gauge. I wish I had seen the other one first. LOL

is it too late to send it back and get the other one. both will work just fine though, only reason i got the zeitronix was because of the deal i got on it.

Sorry im kind of late on this! 2nd^^
Also have them take a look at the mounts. It would be nice to swtich to rs4 or 034 street density mounts if you could.
How is the car done as of today??

OK,
I might look into that other O2 sensor. Looks expensive though. LOL

As for the car right now I think he is going to start taking it apart today. He says he will be able to do it without pulling the motor... so I guess we will see... can you switch those mounts around with the engine still in the car?

hopefully your motor is not tooooo messed up.   If you have some spare cash, I would seriously concider boring the motor out and increasing the displacement..!!!

Unless you have a guy who REALLY and I mean REALLY knows what he is doing and pretty much replaces nearly everything (all the rings, valves, guides, etcetc) ... your motor may never perform like it did or could.

wow... talk about a serious bummer...

It's not like the timing belt broke. All the valves and everything are ok (or at least he says they are and he wouldn't lie to me). If I do have more problems I will just sell it or PRAY that it gets totaled somehow. LOL

OK, here is an update... The car went under the knife yesterday. I went down to see how it was going and he is attempting to do the swap w/out pulling the engine out. He also said that my drivers side turbo is leaking a good amount of oil. HOWEVER the turbo is NOT making any bad noises, or at least it wasn't when I bought it. So my question is, what should I do with them???

Josh

HAHA... If I replace the turbo's it's going to be a single turbo setup.

Josh

P.S. I already am in the planning stages of it.

UMMM..............

So I don't know if anyone else did this wrong too... BUT I figured out what cause all my problems and it WAS in fact the W/M Kit.....

Here is what happened... When i was installing the W/M kit the nozzles have that little screen thing on them... WELL I guess those are NOT supposed to be put into the air stream... SO thats right apparently I put the nozzles' in upside-down and you guessed it one came off and got sucked through the engine... THUS bending an intake valve, destroying a piston and possibly the turbo... We can't see the turbo however so don't know for sure...

SO if anyone else made the stupid mistake like me of installing the nozzle upside-down, SWITCH IT ASAP!!!!!!!!

I called Devils own and they said "Sorry... we can't do anything..." It would have been nice if they showed some instructions on how the nozzle is supposed to me mounted for people like me who have not done one of these setups before.

SO yeah... this freaking freaking freaking sucks.

I just got back from the shop and it is not good at all...

So far it destroyed a valve, the piston, and the turbo on that side has a LOT of play in the shaft... like a lot! It hits the side walls if you pull up on the shaft a bit and turn it.

The drivers side turbo is also on it's way out... it's leaking a good amount of oil. SO i think new turbo's is in the feature. I might even do my custom turbo setup now but I am not sure yet...

I will post pictures of the damage.

Josh

Here are some pictures of the damage... Can you guess which cylinder it was? And there is a bent valve but it's hard to see in the pictures.

Tis the price we pay for having old cars.

I knew it was the w/m kit ever since the first posts. That stuff just isn't cool.

AUDI OPS...  and I knew he bent valves and possibly f'd up pistons...  We kick ass at online diagnostics... haha...  I didn't think that something fell into the motor, but I did think that the water might have caused premature detonation and screwed stuff up permanently.

NOW...  thepaintballguy...

If you had serious cash I would say - BORE and STROKE it up to 2.8 or 2.9 liters...!!! Then take it to VAST and have them put TWO 25/or/28's on there and make 500+ hp...

If you don't have the cash, just get k04's, and save up for fueling and the rest later...

Your custom single turbo talk just shows how little you really know about cars and motors, and no hard feelings with that comment, but it is the truth, and the truth sometimes is mean...

Thanks...

We actually have the entire thing designed already.

BUT I have decided to just replace the K03's and sell the car. I don't have the money for this thing anymore. I will just get a little beater and possibly a bike for the summer. Then late summer I am planning on joining the Air Force so I wouldn't be around to drive it anyways.

what are you talking about there is lots of time in the air force to have time for car.  I would just keep it and you the money from the military to do what ever you want.  plus if you do go over seas you get really really nice pay and it is easy to build up the car.
