Default a/c compressor question & temp sensor

I searched for this topic and did find results but, I wasnt to clear on certain things.

On Saturday when I went to press the snow flake button on my climate control I didnt feel the a/c kick on. Normally the RPM's would drop a bit and raise back up which to me indicates the compressor is turning on.
In this case that didnt happen. I press the snowflake and compressor doesnt turn on. Im hoping its the relay ( under the dash ) that could be the problem but seems like a PITA to get in there

Now I read that if the compressor is low on juice it'll cease from turning on. I know the a/c worked since I used it to defrost my window.

Is there a fuse for the compressor? If so, where would I find it. I looked under the hood and thought there may be some fuses ( the big ones ) but nothing. Also, when I press the A/C button shouldnt the fan begin to spin. OR does the compressor turn on first and with that on turns on the fan?

also, driving back from PA last night i noticed my needle on the temp gauage was at C. About 1 hour before arriving home i glance down on the dash and see the needle has moved to its normal spot.
Im thinking the sensor is going bad and fairly inexpensive to buy but, where on the engine is it?

Im investing in a Bentley's manual so hopefully I can offer you guys help too once my knowledge of Audi's improves.

Thanks guys,

I was actually using that as a guide and eventually narrowed it down to high pressure switch error you receive when using the climate control for diagnosis.

Just recently, I replaced my headlights so i may of knocked a wire loose or something. I highly doubt its a leak since it worked as of a week ago. <crossing fingers>
