Hey all. New to this forum but been reading for it and others for a bit.  I recently bought a 2003 A6 2.7T with the EXACT rims/tires you see here on this ad: http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/audi-a6-cars217842390.

I am in need of getting a second set of Rims (want them on my winter and summer tires as I like them so much)... but when I look on ebay etc., I am told that my Audi A6 2.7 is a bit troubling as most of the tire/rim packages wont fit on my car due to the front callipers being too large.

Folks are talking about offset and depth, medium line measurements which I have no idea.  I would love to buy the same exact rims that I got and are pictured but not sure what they measured at.  I know my tire size is 235-45-17 but I know nothing about the RIMS.  Sorry for being a total dumbass on this but before I order something online and pay for shipping etc and then it wont fit because of my brakes, I’d rather sound stupid now.

Thanks
Claudio

Since yours is an 03, like mine, you don't have the bigger brake system.  Those are called HP2's.  You should be fine with the normal offset.

Man I have no idea.  All I am getting is companies telling me their entry level wheel/tire package that they advertise to fit all Audi A6's wont fit on mine.  Go figure!! What I am going to do is ask locally at one of the performance stores here and see what they quote me and their specs.  Once that is done I will then shop around as the prices of rims and tires here in Canada is stupid expensive compared to the USA. I can order the stuff online and have it shipped to a UPS store close to the border and then a 40 minute drive saves me a load of coin.  I am still in shock comparing the prices of rims and rubber here to what I can get online from places like Tirerack.  If that is not enough the Michelin Pilot Powers I get for my Suzuki GSX-R are again a good 30% cheaper ordering them from the USA and picking them up in the USA. I still pay the taxes but I would have to anyways.

OK... well at least as jabber said (and thank you for the reply)... I do not have the bigger brake system... go figure what the guys online were smoking when they told me otherwise LOL.

Thanks!
