Good Afteroon, All:

So sometime next year I'm contemplating moving my A6 up to K04's. Just for giggles, I went on eBay and took a look around. What I found suprised me:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-A3-A4-A6-TT-K04-K-04-Upgrade-Turbo-Charger_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ024QQitemZ370043147917QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

A K04 for 325 bucks? I remember Audi quoting something like 1600 each. Granted, I know they love overcharging us, but a 4-fold cost difference? My first thought was "What's the catch?" Are these not real KKK turbo units? Are they some junk masquerading around as a real turbo? Huh? Has anyone dealt with this already?

Thanks!
-Red

That looks suspect to me! Then again it's e-Bay!

Notice that the outlet castings are not included, where they would be with the OEM part. So, you need to factor in locating and buying those (unless the K03s fit). Other than that, these look reasonable.

Good luck!

Bob

I thought that the biturbos were two same sized turbos and that twin turbo engines actually had different sized turbos.

Your right about the same size turbo on the A6, but I couldnt tell you about the twin turbo part. Its not that the Ko4's will be diffrent sizes, but they are diffrent style for left and right. Check Pic

well, when you talk about different sized turbos, you actually mean sequential turbos.   Biturbo and twin turbo is an interchangable term.  the gotcha is that this is one turbo, suitable for the 1.8t audi or VW engine.  You need two (a left and a right), these two turbos look vastly different from one another  I believe the numbers to look for are K04-025 and K04-026.  Also as was also mentioned you will need the inlets and outlets as well as the hardware kit.

I would stay away from that.
As for the turbos they are exactly the same interniols. Only the comprussure cover is different all other parts are the same.
