vaportrails -> Turn Signals Fixed (4/22/2008 8:06:08 AM)
|
Just thought i would post this for future reference... I was having an issue with sporadic finctionality with my 2002 A6 3.0 Quattro. The signals would come on, and then stop, or not work all together. I Traced the problem back to the RElay that fashed the turn signal. The steps to diagnose were as follows: 1. Check all Bulbs functionality by using Hazard lights. If a bulb is out the flashers will run at double speed. 2. Feel to see that the relay stops working. The relay is actually part of the hazard light switch. Put your finger on the hazard light button and it should pulse with the lights. If this is done and you feel the relay stop functioning, you can replace it by popping off the wood paned surrounding the cupholder/hazard light switch/ Switch panel. I used an interior panel removal tool. The switch can be then pried out or removed by pushing 2 thin strips of steel in to release the clips. Pull the switch out and then remove the harness from the back. Replace the switch/relay and reverse the process to finish. This took me about 15 minutes to accomplish
