just got back form the shop and it took them ~45 minutes. is that normal?

Di you go to the dealership? Yes that sounds about right because they have to remove the lower engine cover(which is not fun to do). They also perform a complete inspection. Checking all your fluids and tire pressures.

Even if you take it to a "quick lube place" (which i highly recommend you don't because they always end up goofing something) it isn't the 10 min change they advertise. Poor guy under the car will get a sore wrist from all the screws! LOL

i didn't take it to the dealership. i took it to a shop that only works on bmw, merc, audi, vw. the guy who changed the oil didn't even clean up the oil splashed all over the suspension. now i have oil spots on the driveway. when you remove the oil filter, the oil drops straight down onto the suspension parts. when i took it to the dealer for the 1st oil change, at least they were courteous enough to clean up the mess. not the easiest engine to change the oil.

Who knows wat they were doing.Use engine degreaser and hose down the area underneath throttle body cuz that's where the filter sits.
