I was helping a member with his DV install and then just decided to put that and some other things into a thread.

I didn't have a DV so i had to use a pic off the internet

This is how it looks on a stock AEB (96-99.5). I'm not certain when they switched it, either 00 or 01, but it is the same way, except the DV is on the on the other end of the hose like showed in this pic

and here's a diagram of it

So instead of the DV sitting in the TIP, it is sitting in the turbo outlet hose.

And here is how to install a BOV

And in case you're wondering where the vac line goes. It goes to the intake manifold, same as stock. You can see it in this pic. This is also the same line you place a T in when you install a boost gauge or MBC/EBC

And in case you're wondering how the n75 is supposed to be installed

The pulleys and belts

  1. Tensioner
  2. Alternator
  3. Viscous Clutch
  4. Water Pump
  5. Power Steering Pump
  6. Water Pump Belt
  7. Main Accessory Belt
  8. Crankshaft Pulley
  9. Tensioner
  10. A/C Belt
  11. Air Conditioner Compressor

Vacuum Diagram for DBW a4's. (To help diagnose those pesky vac leaks)

Vacuum diagram for the 12v- http://www.12v.org/maintenance/index.php?section=tr&ss=vac

i'll add more when i think of more

One question about the Forge 004, Is it true that we are loosing HP when we install an atmospheric BOV on our B5s?

Hey Chaos, I got another question, I purchased a Forge Splitter and I have it programed as a Hybrid. It said that I have to have the valve set up the other way from the Bosch DV. So I "borrowed" your pictures and did my photoshopping myself :] This is how I installed my splitter.
Is that the RIGHT way? If it is, that's awesome, took me a while to install that, I was just wondering because sometimes I feel that the turbo is not pulling enough when it hits 3000rpm compared to when I have the stock DV, could it be that I just have to tighten the spring on top? Thanks in advance!

I have a question. Is the piece I have circled here the thing that plugs into the top of the airbox? If I get just a cone filter, is it ok that it just sits out like that?

That''s the connection to your MAF. You don''t really have a choice but to let it sit out like that. The stock airbox has the MAF housing built into the air filter housing and the rubber plug seals up the airbox where the MAF plugs in.
