Default Rear Cupholders

Hey everyone

So my 5 year old niece was in my backseat of the A3 yesterday helping me run errands for my sister and brother in law while they move into their new house. well needless to say we got fries and drinks from McDonald's and so obviously she used the rear cup holders built into the rear armrest (first time they've ever been used). Then today when i tried to push the holders back into the arm rest they wouldn't budge not and inch. But i had to use the car with the seats down so i could fit some moving boxes in and as soon as weight was put on the holders they snapped off. What are the chances of getting these replaced under warranty?? Im kinda feeling im screwed but i also don't really see the need in paying to have them fixed i dont have kids or anyone regularly using the backseat. any suggestions?

Hmm...that's a toss up. Unfortunately you couldn't bring it to them with it stuck first. Seeing that they snapped off, they might say you broke it and that it wasn't defective.

Good luck!

Could she have spilled soda or something sticky in the cup holder which caused the jam? I guess its too late now but good luck with the dealer!

small thread jacking here

the part that you push to open the top part of my arm rest broke on me.
can you replace the top part and or the opener part? or do you have to replace the whole thing?
cupholders included.

The dealership will hopefully show some latitude since the cupholders will show very little (if any) wear. They do want you to return to purchase another Audi someday.

Thats exactly what I'm saying, Blue jays, its not a huge deal to me weather or not i have rear cup holders. I do want them replaced obviously for the convenience of passengers. but if i really have to pay i don't think i can justify what a dealer will charge me for them. So if they do it under warranty or for under, lets say $50 awesome but after that it wouldn't personally make sense to pay.

..P.S. i cant wait for some parts for this car to be retrievable from junk yards. I had a 97 a4 previously and when little things like this broke it would only cost me a few dollars to go rip it out of a junked car.
