I Don't believe they do...... Maybe as an option but I've never seen them on any a3 I've seen. Im sure that there not standard anyway. Probably could look good though, if they were about as wide was the audi rings on the front grill. Not to wide not to thin i think it would look decent.
They don't offer the silver roof rails as an option here in the states. There was one guy on this forum who got an S-Line with the roof rails (I don't recall how he got them) and they looked great. I think it makes the car looks more like the A4 Avant.
Also, since mine has them, I imagine there would be holes if I wanted to remove them? So, I'll take a mini-poll...the silver roof rails on my car.... A) Cool B) Meh..you think too much and have too much time on your hands or C) Get them off no matter what!
Those roof rails are super rare. I'm under the impression that very very few US-bound A3s have them. I was considering a roof rack system for my trail bikes earlier so I talked to my audi sales. He said he hasn't seen an A3 w/ those rails yet. I love them though. Those aluminum rails looks gorgeous on bold color cars.
definitely do not come standard on A3s in America. It is an option if you specify. If you decide to do it after the fact it is VERY expensive. I looked into it heavily and does not seem worthwhile.
BTW - A and B on your questions, TPE; rails look great on your Dolphin gray. I'm considering putting in an order for a new 2.0T quattro - Dolphin and Avus are on my short list.

Yeah, those new A3 2.0TQ will be sweet. Might be persuaded to swap, especially if it has the electromagnetic dampening control too. Problem is that I would still want a manual transmission.
BTW, TPE your car looks absolutely gorgeous, especially knowing it's a TDI too. I love the tint with the dolphin grey. I'd be more than happy to trade you. I'd even throw tickets for you and the kids to go to Disneyland.

A couple of people have asked me about the tint. It's made by V-Kool, a Singapore-based company. Besides its looks, what is really special about it is how it blocks out heat and UV without distorting or darkening the view out. The website has some pretty interesting factoids about the company and their products. (1970s MIT innovation and Pop. Sci named it in top 100 inventions of the last century) Basically, they use metals in the film, not chemicals. I'm not sure if you can get it in the States, but if you can, and want to know the exact number of the film I used for reference, I can check with my shop.
