Default help with code P1335

i have been having issues for quite awhile now with my EPC light coming on and putting me into limp mode. i have made several posts and not gotten much help on the issue. i recently checked my codes and pulled code P1335 (manufacturere controlled ignition system or misfire). i dont remember getting that code last time i threw a CEL for this issue. does anybody have any idea what might cause this code or what i need to check? i started getting this code when i installed a manual boost controller and it hasnt gone away. it only happens when i accelerate at a medium pace. if i reach full boost, it doesnt happen. and if i only boost a little (around stock boost or less) then it doesnt happen, but for some reason it does this when i boost somewhere in between. any ideas??

Default RE: help with code P1335

My only guess has to do with the fuel mix at that level of boost. Check your plugs to see if you are running lean. Replace them with a hotter plug too. It might fix it, it might not, but it wouldn't hurt.

When you go WOT the injectors fire full fuel, and it doesn't cause any problems with the added boost. In the middle of your new boost range though, your injectors still operate as if it were running at lower boost, leaning you out. Low boost isn't far from factory, so that wouldn't alter things any.

This is only my best guess though from my experience with Mitsubishi 4g63 engines. The audi's might have some super magic ultra cool injector module that no one has found out about yet that has gone bad. If there is such a module, it's probably hidden really really well...

Good luck

yeah i'm from the dsm world also...sold my talon and got this audi for a nicer ride, but i seem to just have more and more problems with this car. i'm not running much boost though. i only have the mbc set at 13 psi so it shouldnt be having this many issues. i wonder if i turn the boost all the way down to 7 psi, if it will still do this.
