antonio_A6 -> 98 A6 2.8 Tiptronic Transmission dead? (5/2/2008 6:09:02 PM)

Hi guys! My name is Antonio and I'm a proud owner of a '98 2.8 A6, 100.500 miles.
Today I was parking my car at home and the engine suddently quitted while the D was on.
So i putted the transmission to P and I restarted the engine, back to D and accelerate, but the engine quitted in a sec.
Now if I put R od D the transmission slams hard, then if I accelerate the engine quits soon. If I keep the P and accelerate, then the engine runs ok even if the engine check light is on.
Does anybody have an idea of what the problem could be?
