Hey whats up guys, so with all this talk about sensors, it seems neither my washer fluid or my seatbelt warnings come up. So i found a thread where to recode your instrument module

http://www.audiforums.com/m_338830/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm

and decied to recode it. Still same thing no warning lights come up. Instead while heading to work i decide to go WOT and to my surprise the RPMs climb to 6500 and car does NOT shift it goes all the way to 7800 or 8K so i'm like WTF and back off the throttle. I then think what the hell happend to my rev limiter?! So when I get to work and car is in park i rev up and it goes right up to 8K!

I did not intentialy do this but.....i'm thinking now that the rev limiter is gone maybe i can do over 130?? To many cops out to try and probably too much traffic so i'm not attempting this.

I believe the stock Audi has a speed governor, not a rev limiter.  Before I got it chipped I ran it to 133 in both 5th and 6th gear.  I've also over-revved on occasion in first before I got used to how quickly the chipped turbo spools up.  After chipping, bouncing between 147-152 before the clutch started to slip ( and weeks later failed).

So feel secure that you can blow your engine but still not go over 133 without chipping the beast.

I had the limiter removed in my 05 4.2 and had the car to 155 in 5th.  I am guessing I could have hit 165 in 6th.    The European tuner sites claim a top speed of 175 without the limiter and without anys mods.
