Hey I'm new to the forum and i want your opinions on my first car possibly a B6 A4 1.8t. I'm 16 and ive had several cars in mind but i think the A4 would be the best. Ive driven a B6 S4 so i know the power of audi, recently an evo 8 but that car is out of the question because it "isnt appropriate" for my age. I considered the new civic si but id much rather drive something more classy and stylish. I would much appreciate what you memebers would say about the B6 A4 1.8t.
competetion would be 350zs, m3s? everything else?

so wait your saying an Evo is not in your age bracket??? I know a few 18yr olds who have Evo9's and they're awesome. Insurance hurts the wallet and the mod bug has hit hard, but they are awesome cars.


AS for your question I would nver comapre the 350Z, M3 to an A4, they are a different mindset. I would compare a regular 3 series 4door to an A4 and would take the B6 over a comparable E46 3erIt depends on your budget too, All German cars will cost more to maintain than say Japanese/American cars will. All in all I got my Audi at 17, but thankfully my parents cover repairs.


I would say if you have a good job, or parents are taking care of the big items then an Audi is something you should def. look into.

Only reason why I have an audi is because of the age. If you want an audi, get something with a few years on it. They are great cars, in every year made, but the price of the newer ones are a killer.

Well my parents was just saying they would feel horrible if i got an Evo for my first car, then got into a wreck because of a lack of skill in handeling a car like that what i meant, but i dont blame them plus theyre paying for all expenses.

I also didnt mean to make such a dramatic comparision between those cars, i understand they are in a different class. Like the s4 would more comparible to m3. What i was trying to say was that if i were to get an A4, i would want it to stand out from all the other A4s. And maybe even out perform other cars. The A4 im looking at has about 52k and is an 04. My dad's S4 has had some minor issues, repairs, etc but so far all covered under warranty so its no big deal yet. On average how much would you say maintainece would cost?
