2006 A6 - Xenon upgrade question

I am thinking of buying an 2006 A6. It doesn't have the premium package that gives you the HID Xenon lights.

Is it simple to replace the OEM lights with OEM Xenon headlights.

The OEM Xenon lights turn with the steering wheel so it is not as easy as just replacing the light bulbs.  But if you can figure out how to do it, you will really enjoy night driving.  The adaptive xenons in my 05 4.2 are great.

im sure you may be able to get just a regular hid kit from somewhere if you dont care about adaptive steering

Can I replace the entire unit...not just the lamps ?

Do I have to re-wire anything or can I just replace the entire unit without going through a major wiring change.

you typically would recieve a whole new unit new housing and everything ... although some kits you can get for cheaper and you just replace the bulb wire in a transformer and your done ... it isnt rocket science thats for sure everything comes with harnesses its all plug in with car-specific kits ... search ebay or one fo these tuning companies
