Hi guys I'm new to the forum. I just purchased a 97 A6 Quattro and it is a beauty. I got it from a family friend, they were in the process in replacing the sunroof motor because it didn't work. They told me that they didn't have time to do it so they sold it to me as isn and pretty much expect me to hire someone and do it. My question is if there is anytime of manual or way that I can replace the motor myself and get the sunroof working?? Ohh and a few others things, what is the reccomended coolant that I should use on this car and im guessing that premium gas is a must?
A 2002 might need 91-93 gas but I use 89 in my 97 A6 Avant Q without any problem.
Oh ya - just in case someone disagrees - It just turned 190K
Did the same on my 89 200QT and it got to 350K before I decided to park it due to multiple electrical problems and the need for a CV joint. but no other mechanical or fuel issues

You can get the Audi Bentley CD manual from www.themotorbookstore.com or from www.bentleypublishers.com . The motor has to be installed per the Bentley instructions. For now, you may want to disconnect the motor, until you have the CD manual. There may be more wrong than just the motor. With the motor removed, but connected to the wires, it must be returned to the zero position. The motor must be installed with the sunroof in the closed position, with the motor in the zero position. Don't forget to look for a blown fuse, bad sunroof controler switch, etc. Also, the sunroof may be mechanically broken, which caused the motor problem. Also, your sunroof may be different than mine, so you need to go by the CD manual instructions.
