here is some good info on the car and what most peopledo to upgrade http://www.audiforums.com/m_406711/tm.htm
As for what is a DV is it does the same function as a BOV but a DV is in a closed loop system so you cant VENT TO ATMO, i know you can but you car is alrady takeing into acount it is getting that air back into the system and will run like shit. Hope this helps at all and good luck with your car finding.

The DV is REALLY quite, especially due to the stock airbox. No what you are hearing there is more of backfire... I think, but it's not the DV.

get a chip, giac, apr, whatever. Because of the turbos a simple chip will turn s4's into beasts

500-800 bones, and 50-80 hp, and 80-100 ft/lbs.
good luck, and keep utilizing that search feature!

70 more hp and like 90 lb ft. of torque increase is what I've been told. So that would put you around 320 hp with a chip intake, and exhaust mods.
The APR bi-pipe is a good part, not for adding power, but you never have to worry about blowing a hole in the throttle body boot and getting a boost leak.
Darrintake
Chip
"piggie pipes" which are downtubes from the turbo with the pre cats removed, helps spool faster and lower backpressure
high flow cats
a good catback exhaust system (borla, apr, awe, custom, etc..)
if a manual, get a short shifter, and later on a light weight flywheel (LFW)
if tiptronic, recode trans to 00032 for ability to hold 1st gear in tip mode (good for racing)
if you got deep pockets, get some APR intercoolers
RS4 cams
all of that stuff would put you at stage 2+

ok sounds nice, i will make a blueprint and go from there...now bodykits....i want that widebody look without having the full kit on..could fender flares work?

I too will be going widebody, but this will be one of the very last things I do. If you go with fender flares, have them done custom by a bodyshop, and make sure you tell them you want sheet metal and fiberglass grafted to the car... If they just fit aftermarket flares on, and fill it in with fiberglass, you are going to get cracks all in your paint. Widebody looks fantastic, but if you go w/ a non wide front bumper and rear bumper, then fit fender flares on, it will look very curvey from the front or back. This is fine if you want that kind of look; what I plan on doing is getting a wide front bumper, and wide rear bumper, with grafted fender flares. I will most likely get regular side skirts, as if you get the ones from I believe Seidl, they have this sill thing that goes down the whole side of the car, yeah it looks good, but I can almost promise you one of your dopey friends is going to step on it either getting in the car or out of the car... What you can do is get an RS4 Conversion, they look clean and subtly aggressive, the price tag is just shy of 8 grand w/o paint/prep/fitment. If I were you I'd get all of your engine work done before stepping to the body kit.

Oh Boy... if you don't get the real wide body- it will look awful most likely. the real wide body is like 8 grand in parts.
if you want popping sounds, then get catless dp's with straight pipes all the way back, that will pop and fire will spit out the back. perfect for those import shows, lol.
like the other guys said... chip, full turboback exhaust for power. CF hood, trunk etc and other weight reduction for going faster/quicker if yuo want.
please do a lot more reading and go back like 10 pages and read almost every thread and you will start to understand a little more and see this kind of thread posted every other day.
Good luck!
