A burn out in an Audi? - 5/12/2008 12:40:57 PM    yesss4 Posts: 240 Joined: 6/20/2006 Status: offline Okay so I saw Iron Man this weekend.  Cool flick.  Go watch it and count the Audis in it - they must have paid some serious cash for all that product placement.  So there's a scene where the main character takes off in a hurry with his R8 and it shows a dark patch where he layed down some rubber.  I'm thinking, "Pssh, so phony. You can't do that in an Audi."  Supersonic flight in a metal suit - okay I'll buy that. _____________________________ Revo ECU (software) Milltek intake, downpipes and catback Bilstein PSS9 suspension; Neuspeed rear swaybar ASA ZR2 rims; 245/35/19 Post #: 1

When i was at the dragstrip i was definately getting the back end loose, so yes you can lose rubber..and on the r8, with mid engine and a 56% rear end bias in weight, would be easier _____________________________ (in reply to yesss4) Post #: 6

RE: A burn out in an Audi? - 5/12/2008 8:52:25 PM    yesss4 Posts: 240 Joined: 6/20/2006 Status: offline Okay okay you've convinced me.  Pretty funny that this guy has more money that God and he picks the R8.  But actually from what I've read it wouldn't be a bad choice - it has the supercar look and would be doable as an every-day car, versus others that are faster and more exotic but not as comfortable.  I like that Audi puts some marketing dollars into putting cars in movies (like Iron Man and I Robot).  Gives our cars an added "cool" factor.
