Has anyone gotten the chip upgrade from Total Audi Performance for the 2.8 1992 to 1995 Audi 90? They say it raises horses by 22 hp, and it costs $225. If anyone has gotten it, do you like it and was it worth the money?
I wouldn''t believe their claim for a second. That is a lot of horsepower to gain from a simple fuel delivery mod. I have played around with engines enough not to buy such exaggerated claims. A chip with air flow improvements perhaps, but not just a chip. I won''t name the one liter four cylinder engine I have been fooling with ( it''s German however ) piston and rod combinations balanced to within 0.10 grams, a blueprinted head with port matching, knife edged valve guide bosses, greatly cleaned up ports, volume matched combustion chambers, five angle valve seat cut, 3mm larger throttle bodies ( each cyl has a separate throttle body ) and a reworked L-Jetronic air flow meter, all checked on a dyno with a gas analyzer with a perfect 14 to 1 air to fuel ratio across the rev range and this nets a whopping five horsepower. Woo woo. A chip isn''t giving you that kind of power increase.

I have not heard good things about TAP (Total Audi Performance) and I dont believe those claims. I do have a chip from Upsolute and it gave 11 h.p. (with a full tune up), 1 h.p. less then advertised, but Im happy with those gains. Remember its just a piece of the puzzle.
