I'm new to Audi, and new to the forum, but came across it as I was researching how to add a front license plate bracket to my new-to-me 2003 A6 2.7 T (manual transmission - 48k miles); I recently got a citation for not having one - it seems that California, and San Francisco in particular, is sensitive to this... Dealerships I've called in the area want btwn 100 and 110 for the bracket, which I find absurd. Also, my car doesn't seem to have pre-drilled holes or an area where I could reasonably mount a bracket. So - any thoughts on a) where to get a bracket and b) how to mount it, with minimal damage to the bumber? I realize that I may have to drill; I'd like to avoid it, however. Also, in passing, and less importantly, any thoughts on 'clipping'? A chap I ran into referred to this, and I didn't quite understand what he was referring to, until some time later eg that it means modifying the electronically limited top end speed (this is a statement as much as it is a question, as I'm still somewhat unclear what 'clipping' is) So, how would I go about doing it, and what would the cost be? And, can I do it myself, or should I rely on my mechanic? Thanks
