jeffla you gave me the wrong deffinition. the codes from that site mean
Sec.Air Inj.Sys.,Bank1 Flow too low
Sec.Air Inj.Sys.,Bank2 Flow too Flow

im wondering if the flow too flow is a typo and it really means to low? because there are no other codes that say flow too low for bank 2? so what do these codes mean? is my MAF sensor bad? i have no idea what sensor this is indicating? or what problem this is?

I have a 98 A6 wagon , received those codes and found quite a few vacuum lines were leaking or broken. I think I have replaced 5 lines so far and it has been almost 2 weeks sincethe check light has been on.knock on wood.Hope this helps. Start checking the lines toward the top side rear of engine. I think my engine is the ATC? or something like that. Just got this A6 and am still learning. I did find out it is a 97 body with serial # below 500!! Cigarette lighter was shorted out but that is another story.

You have the good old air injection pump failure. If the light is reset it takes a few drives before it comes back on. if you just got the car talk with the person that sold it to you. They probably screwed you.

It is near the front of the motor. Do the following:
Make sure the vacum lines are OK. 75% of the AIP problems are bad vacum lines.
If they are OK check the fuse - (one pump feeds both sides)
Then make sure the pump is runs.

Next it could be two bad valves or two sensors - both going out is rare!
