I have the KW Variant 3s. The infinite adjustability is worth the extra over the V2s. You can tailor the ride to exactly how you like! That's what I call an upgraded suspension! Better performance, no sacrifice in comfort. Life's good!
For the price and quality, you can't beat the Koni's. However, I was originally looking for the KW3's too, but didn't want to wait for them to come out. I'm perfectly happy with the Koni's, but I would have ponied up the extra funds for the ability to adjust on the fly. FWIW
The Koni / Neuspeed combo kit being offered is a very good deal, especially if you have an installer lined up or are comfortable with a DIY. I have seen shock curves on the PSS9s that show basically 2 settings: 2 hard and 2 soft. Bilstein makes good stuff, but adjustable shocks have never been their thing, and I'm sure there are some lessons
KW Var 3s seem to be the high water mark - everybody loves them and they work well- but you pay for them. Consider: the difference in price buys a a nice set of rims, or a full turbo back exhaust, or a chip and blow-off combo. So it's a value question.
I went with a Stasis StreetSport kit, basically pre-set Konis with a reworked upper perch that won't squeak, because of a local installer anda competitive price. I have TC Kline full race Double Adjustable Konis on my race car, but for almost a3 Thou without springs they better be good. On that note - 80% of all adjustments we make to the shocks are rebound adjustments, and mostly to the front, exactly what Koni provides on their coilover set.Imagine that, they figured that part out a long time ago.
Once you're in the coilover league these are all REALLY GOOD STUFF. The most important part is getting them installed properly, aligned properly, and corner weighted properly. Anything with lots of adjustsments has way more ways of getting it wrong, than getting it right, so experience matters, and details matter.
I'll second what Panzrwagon said about installation.
My friend here in Taipei got a set of KW V3s put on his car. Didn't like the ride.
Brought it to 'my' shop where the owner has 20 years plus tuning race cars...good as gold in about an hour. HUGE difference in all aspects of performance. Better comfort, better performance. Get them done right!
