Default SIDE TURN SIGNALS

Hey all whats up. Was wondering how I could go about removing the amber colored side marker on a 98 a4, and replace it with clear side markers. Thanks!

the 98 has square ones. Take a credit card and insert it under the light housing. Do this from the front end of the car, sliding the card to toward the rear. The housing should just pop out. Twist out the lightbulb and replace with clear or smoked sidemarker housings.

Or if you have strong fingers/fingernails, you can do it with just your hands. But yes... pull from front to rear.

You have to be an animal to get them out with your fingernails... or maybe a goth.[&:]

Actually, not really brrman. winchou pulled his smoked sides off his TT (with his fingers) and then swapped them into mine so I could see the effect. He only struggled for a second, but they gave way.

I imagine it would all depend on the car anyway. I bent a credit card on one of my sidemarkers. It seemed to be stuck in there as if it were sunken into the paint or something. The other side came off easy.

Yeah the credit card trick worked. Id recommend using a credit card you either don't care about, or getting rid of anyway, because it tore mine up pretty good. But all is well, clear markers are on. Thanks for the advice

Credit card tool worked great! Thanks. Better than removing fender liners!
