If there's more than one Audi dealership in town, you might try calling around. I ended up getting my code by calling the dealership that had performed the service contract on the car for the previous owner, but before that, another dealership told me that they would do it for me for free "to welcome me to the Audi family".

$130 is steep for it. Anything in the 1 hour of labor range is about normal... standard rates around me average about $65.

Bargain hunt!

I just spent a week dealing with this same problem. The dealership wanted $80 and was an hour away. You can go to the dealership and get the code for free, they just can't do it over the phone. You need the VIN and the 14 digit code stamped on the back/side of your radio. Then take it to the dealership and show proof of ownership (title, etc). They don't do any labor so they can't charge for it. Then they give you the code. I took my car to a local Euro car shop and they pulled the radio out in 30 seconds for free. Also check around your spare tire or under it. The 4 digit radio code is often reprinted there too.
