Default Temp gauge loco

I have a 2006 A4 cab. This past weekend, my temp gauge, usually straight up in the middle of the gauge, was all over the place. It ouwld fall to the 'C' then quickly climb to the 1/2 mark. Shortly thereafter it was at the 1/4 mark, then back up to 1/2 way. Car runs fine otherwise. Whats the problem?

Default RE: Temp gauge loco

there might be a problem with the sensor that detects the temperature, or a connection with the relay of something along the electrical side of it... but i have no idea, it could just have gone bad for some reaosn
