Directly below the arm rest?

I have a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro MT6, and everytime I pull up the parking brake it pushes up the arm rest, and I have to bring it fully upright to bring it back down again.

It's really irritating and I never noticed it until after I drove it a few days.

Anyone else ponder at why they did this?

No but I drive with my arm rest up anyway so it doesn't bother me. I would say just don't pull the brake up as much if it really bothers you.

well I drive a stick too, so I know at least in the b5 you can set the brake lower and still keep the car stationary

yeah i used to get annoyed by that but i just don't pull it up as far, the ebrake is wicked strong and i usually leave my car in gear anyway so its not moving regardless

everybody i know that has an audi and is a car enthusiast has the same question... and its just something audi has done for ages and has never changed it once they put it in place

its is quite annoying though! that is for sure!

i totally know what you mean! it gets stuck if you push it up just a little bit, and i need my arm rest, but i also need me e-brake. bad design there.

the ebrake is wicked strong tho at a few clicks up....i dunno you get used to it i guess
