Default B5 1.8 overhaul update

Previous thread:
http://www.audiforums.com/m_856130/m.../tm.htm#856130

I am almost completed with my 01 1.8 overhaul. I went with all stock parts and was able to go with STD bearings due to virtually no wear. The motor had 74k miles and the Oil pickup screen was clogged up with solid debris, possibly chain tensioner guide plastic shavings and other particles. This starved the head of oil and spun the bearings on the camshaft. The lower end was good except for Main bearing #3, which had some wear but didn't damage the crank any. I photographed my quest and uploaded them here:

Now that my VAG-COM tool is in, I need to figure out all the DTCs and fix or adjust things to clear them out. Wish me luck! I got 16 codes and a glowing Cat, cyl 1 and 4 have multiple missfires

I repainted it, anytime I remove something I have a habit of cleanin/repainting/polishing it before reinstalling it. The block was in A+ condition with no sludge buildup. I don't know what caused the chain guide to wear down, maybe an overheating issue or just oil screen buildup over time causing limited oil flow. there was a lot of fine "crust" in the oil pickup screen, possibly metal filings from the camshaft.

Thanks,
