Default A few quick ?'s

Ok, apparently my last post didn't go through. But here I go again. I have a quick question. I just changed my oil, and the best way I could think of getting to the oil filter was to move the Clear plastic container above the filter out of my way. Well The first question is... What exactly is that thing and what does it do? I know it's got coolant in it, but not sure what it is... Then that brings me to my next question. At the bottom of this container there is an adapter with two wires on it. When I moved the Resvoir, there was a wire not connected. I'm not sure if this happend when I moved it or if it has been off. I'm trying to figure out what it's purpose is and if it's going to mess something up. My best bet to fix it is to replace the adapter. I would splice the wire back together but.... There isn't enough left to splice with. But if you guys are able to understand what i'm saying. any help would be nice.

Thanks

Do you have any warning lights on the dash? I'm not sure exactly what you're describing, but if it's not obviously broken and you don't get any warning lights, don't mess with it. If that sensor isn't properly connected, you WILL get a warning light upon start up. As for the coolant reservoir...well...that's what it is.

we sure it's the coolant resivoir? possibly the washer fluid tank? It has a sensor, and it's closer to the oil filter than the coolant expansion tank...

is your windshield washer fluid light on?

Just throwing out another possibility...

My washer fluid resevoir is right next to my fender, so it's actually a little further from the oil filter than the coolant one. And the only sensor i'm getting is a 1n2 warning. Have not a clue what that means. I have another question, what does the warning 1n2 mean? it's actually been on there for about a week and a half now. Haven't paid any attention to it, because I haven't noticed the car acting any different. Also Do I have to get the car scanned to clear the OIL... Light when it's on. It used to always come on for the first 20 secs but now it's the 1n2 warning. And it's only on for 20 secs then it's gone.
