i dunno... but something similar to that, one time my friend was trying to change his tire on his car cuz he got a flat, and it literally took 3 guys and hour and a call to AAA to figure out how to open up the jack so the could put it under the car lol

For the best gas mileage, you can inflate the tires to the maximum COLD psi listed on the sidewall. However, that will make the ride very harsh, make handling less predictable, and wear the center of the tires out significantly faster than the rest of the tread, resulting in an expensive tire purchase. You should really only use the max inflation pressure when you are doing high performance driving...like autocross or road course.

You can improve the mileage by adding about 3-5 psi without significantly reducing the tire wear or ride comfort.

You dont sound like an idiot at all. When I had the B6 it was sitting in my trunk for about 2 years cause I had that same problem. Its a b!tch. Gott fold the crank in just right and sorta wiggle it in .It fits, it just takes a whole lot of trial and error to fit it in.
I think the crank faces up (when folded against the body of the jack), and the part that lays on the floor is pointing towards the front of the car. Thats the best I can do besides going out to my car and takinga picture of it (which my boss wouldnt be too happy about.)

i second that statement.....over inflating your tires is probably not the smartest idea

Since I had to get my jack out today, here's a picture of how it sits.
