Hey,

I have a 2000 1.6 A3 with 65k miles on the clock. I've been told I need to get the timing belt changed (the service manual suggests changing it at 60k miles).

I know it will cost a lot if it breaks, so I want to get it fixed to be sure this doesn't happen. I'm presuming there's a difference in cost between an Audi Service Centre and a private mechanic... can anyone give me an indication on how much either would charge?
